Welcome to

Educator + Learner Resources

As an educational 501 (c)3, The Liberty Cap Foundation (LCF) believes that excellent educational content should be freely available for all. This section of our website offers educators and learners a variety of resources that address all elements of teaching and learning, from the very concrete—California’s Common Core Standards, a selection of free, vetted, excellent curricula (vs. paid curricula), and PDFs—to the more abstract—links to and discussions of effective pedagogies—to the very practical work of preparing a lesson—our educational pairings, Historical Analysis essays and our Research Links.

We hope the scope and variety of material allows independent learners and educators both affiliated and non-affiliated to engage with coins and with history. Above all, no matter the student’s age, coins offer a concrete, tactile way to engage with history and representation. It’s our hope that our lessons inspire you to create your own. If you do this, we encourage you to apply for one of our Liberty Cap Foundation Curriculum Grants. We welcome thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. Please email us at Hello@thelibertycapfoundation.org.

Here you’ll find Common Core standards, PDFs of our Context and Content sections, and links to pedagogy sites we admire.
